Compassion Charity Update

Compassion Launch Sunday - 13th September 9:30 + 11:30am 

This Sunday is the culmination of 9 months of work discerning as a leadership team what’s next for our Bracknell international mission giving. We’ve spent the year exploring Compassion, a Christian child development charity, with Pelumi and I went to see projects in March this year and then our Elders spending time with the Compassion team discussing their child development model . So after our exploration over this year we have now settled on this charity as our partner in this next season.

SO on Sunday we are going to have a very special Compassion Launch with Stewart Lake our regional Compassion Co-ordinator sharing with us about the work of Compassion and about the projects we can get involved in!.
He’ll paint a picture for us of the communities they work alongside- their successes and challenges so we can understand more about the communities we are partnering. He’s also bringing with him a Compassion alumni (Doki) who is going to share her perspective on what our support means on the ground to the children and their families. 

As a community we have a deep passion for standing with those Jesus sees but the world has often ignored, this is another chapter in our story. It may lead us into bring challenged about how we create space for our new Kerith friends from across the ocean at our “Kerith table” but we will be all the richer for these new connections I just know! 

Make sure not to miss the morning at either the 9:30 or 11:30am meetings as we’ll be sharing about how you can get involved and as a church where we are going to step up and challenge ourselves to think beyond our walls!
