The Building Work has begun in Farnborough - 17th July 2026

(‍3 minute read)

This Sunday marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us at Kerith Farnborough.

On Sunday 19th July, we'll be gathering in our building for the last time before work begins on the first phase of our much anticipated building renovation. While we'll be away from the building for a few weeks, our church community will continue to meet, serve and connect throughout the summer.

Investing in the Future

This first phase of the project is all about creating a stronger foundation for the years ahead. Some of the work will happen behind the scenes, but it will make a significant difference to what we're able to do in the future.

The renovation will include:

  • Installing important infrastructure that will support future phases of development.

  • Fitting underfloor heating in the auditorium while reorienting the main gathering space, with further improvements planned in later phases.

  • Completely renovating the rooms above the Hub to create more space for our young people on Sundays and additional rooms for midweek ministries and community activities.

These improvements are all part of our vision to create a welcoming, flexible space that better serves both our church family and the wider Farnborough community.

Preparations Are Underway

We’ll seek to give you regular updates throughout the summer as the work progresses. It's been a busy first week as we prepare for the work to begin.

We've met with our appointed contractors to finalise the construction schedule, and members of the church gathered for a building update evening to hear more about the project, pray together and seek God's guidance for the months ahead.

Meanwhile, volunteers have been hard at work clearing and preparing the auditorium, ready for the renovation to begin.

Some Changes During the Summer

While the building is closed, a few of our regular activities will temporarily move or pause.

Our Wednesday morning Meet & Brew group is now meeting at Farnborough Library, providing the same friendly space to enjoy a coffee and conversation.

Our Community Pantry will pause during the auditorium renovations, with its final session before the break taking place on Thursday 30th July. Pantry members have been signposted to alternative local food support, and everyone has been warmly invited to take part in our Summer Connect gatherings. The Pantry will reopen as soon as it's safe to do so.

Join Us This Sunday 19th July.

This Sunday will look a little different as preparations continue. The auditorium and lounge areas will already reflect some of the changes taking place, and there will be slightly fewer parking spaces available because of storage containers on site. If you're able to park a little further away and walk, we'd really appreciate it.

Despite the changes, everything that makes a Sunday at Kerith special will remain the same. There will be a warm welcome, passionate worship, an inspiring message, and our children and young people will enjoy their groups as normal. Please note that there won't be a podcast recording this week.

Whether you're part of our church family every week or have been thinking about visiting, we'd love to welcome you.

Staying Connected Over the Summer

Although we won't be gathering in the building for a few weeks, church life certainly isn't stopping.

Throughout the summer there will be opportunities to connect through Summer Connect, with midweek groups, shared meals, social gatherings and opportunities to build friendships across our community.

Looking Ahead

Building projects often involve a little disruption, but they're ultimately about creating opportunities for the future. We're excited to see how these improvements will enable us to serve more people, create more space for community, and continue helping people find and follow Jesus.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying, serving and encouraging one another throughout this journey. We can't wait to share updates as the renovation progresses and look forward to welcoming everyone back into the building in the autumn.
