Thank You Berkshire Community Foundation

We’re delighted to share that Bracknell Foodbank has received vital winter support from the “Surviving Winter” Fund via Berkshire Community Foundation. This funding comes at a crucial time, helping us continue to serve local people through the colder months.

Bracknell Foodbank has been awarded £2,500, which will be used to help cover our rising energy costs between November and April. Our monthly energy bills currently average £1,300, so this will make an enormous difference to us over the winter period, easing the burden of rising costs all round. These costs include two essential buildings that enable our work:

  • Our warehouse and distribution centre; where food is stored, and where individuals and families visit to receive support.

  • Our office space; where staff and volunteers coordinate all of our community support services.

This funding doesn’t just keep the Foodbank running—it also supports our wider social action projects that operate from the same spaces and rely on safe, warm, and accessible facilities.

Supporting the Wider Community

In addition to serving around 500 families each month through the Foodbank, this grant also helps sustain:

  • Revive Café, which provides a warm, welcoming space to around 50–60 local people each week.

  • Our CAP UK Debt Centre, supporting numerous families across Bracknell Forest as they navigate the pressure and complexity of debt.

  • Money Management Courses, helping people stay in control of their finances.

  • Our behind-the-scenes support services, ensuring our teams can operate effectively, respond to growing demand, and reach the people who need us most.

  • Our partnership with Pilgrim Hearts will also benefit as we offer a space to their homeless guests to have a hot shower and wash their clothes.

This combined support enables us to offer holistic, compassionate help to many households experiencing hardship this winter.

From Our Team

Sarah Walker, Ministries Director at Kerith Community Church (home of Bracknell Foodbank), said:

“We are incredibly grateful for this £2,500 grant from Berkshire Community Foundation. Keeping our buildings warm, safe and operational is essential—not just for the hundreds who rely on the Foodbank, but also for those who visit Revive Café, receive help through our CAP Debt Centre, or access our wider support services. This funding helps us continue providing a lifeline for local families through the winter season.”

Jon Yates, CEO of Berkshire Community Foundation, said:

“At Berkshire Community Foundation, we work to enable vibrant, caring and resilient communities by directing philanthropic funds towards charities that perform vital functions for local people. We are delighted to support Bracknell Foodbank in its important work and look forward to the positive impact enabled by this grant.”
