Kerith Windsor Gift Days

Over the next two Sundays, 30th April & 7th May, we are going to be having ‘Gift Days’ to raise the money needed to fund two building projects.

Café Area

After opening up our entrance area, which has transformed the front of our building and created much more of a welcoming space, we are now on to phase two - a café area :)

There are a few reasons why we’d love to have a café area. Firstly, we would have an accessible kitchen area downstairs for our host teams, who make and serve refreshments on Sundays and at our mid-week courses and events. Secondly, it would free up the room where coffee is currently prepared so we can have another space for our Kerith kids to meet on a Sunday. Lastly, we have a bigger dream! We would love to one day have a café which opens up to the people in our community during the week. Have a place where people who are part of the church can meet and get to know local people while drinking great coffee. The dream is that our café area would be a place where people can find community and support, then discover church family and Jesus.

Here is a link to a plan we had made up which shows how it could possibly look:

Auditorium Improvements

We have toyed with the idea of turning our auditorium around, our central production team have tried to look at some ways in which that might work. Unfortunately if we were to do that and keep the same seating capacity, we would lose our refreshment area. I think this area is so key in us getting to know one another as well as the people who visit us. So we are not going to that.

What we are hoping to do:

  • Install 12m retractable drape near auditorium entrance to limit distractions during the service

  • Enlarge Stage to accommodate our growing band

  • Install 2x TVs in coffee area

  • Move production area/desk to corner of the room

  • Install an audio feed in the parent/child room and café area. Parents could then listen to the service if they need to feed babies or entertain lively children (if we have no kids work on a Sunday). Would also love to get visuals of the service on the screen in that area too one day.

Currently we have £6,333 in our building fund and estimate that we would need approximately £40,000 to get all the work done.

I think the kitchen/café area and the auditorium alterations would help us in serving our church family well. Also, help us to reach and serve the people in the local community too.

I want to encourage us all to get involved. Lets be praying that we raise enough money in the Gift Days we have in 2023 to get both of these projects done. Lets be praying about what God might be calling us each to give. If we all do what we can, God will take care of the rest.

If you are in a position where you able to give, you can find out how to do that here: https://kerith.churchsuite.com/donate/fund/fk7skumv

Exciting times ahead :)
