Celebrate Good Times - Serenje & Baptisms

In the words of Kool and the Gang - Celebrate good times, come on!
Lots to celebrate from the weekend just gone.
First of all the Serenje offering which is now even higher than I announced on Sunday! Gifts and pledges now total £83,088, which with Gift Aid should come to at least £103,000. I'm just so excited about this, first to be part of such an incredibly generous community, but secondly for the incredible difference this is going to make in the lives of people living in conditions of unbelievable hardship. Thank you so much to everyone who gave, and if you haven't yet given but would still like to then please still give. We're going to be looking to raise another £100,000 this time next year so the more of that we can get now the better. If you made a pledge then please make sure to fulfill it as I certainly don't want to have to announce that the total has gone down :-)
Secondly to celebrate the 11 people we baptised on Sunday. For me there's nothing more exciting than hearing stories of changed lives. It always brings me back to realising that this is why we do what we do. That we get the privilege to partner with God in seeing the lives of ordinary people like you and me transformed by an encounter with an extraordinary God. Just fantastic.
We have so much to be thankful for, and to celebrate. As I said on Sunday morning let's never forget what God has done for us, but like the 12 stones they took out of the Jordan as they crossed into the promised land and built into a memorial, every time we see what God is doing in the lives of others be reminded of all that he has done for us through his death and resurrection.
Hope you have a great week,
Simon.
