If you call Kerith your home and you aren’t already serving - would you join us on the journey? Over the summer we will be spotlighting different ministry teams so you can be praying which one to join. Of course even if you’re in a team already, please do take a read of these blogs, as it’s so encouraging to hear what God is doing. You’ll also hear the vision our ministry leaders have to help people find their way back to God through communities growing in their love for God and love for people (for those newer to Kerith - that’s our vision statement as a church!) Read on to learn about our Kerith Care Team.

1 Peter 5:2 "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care."

Our Kerith Care volunteers are a really vital part of our church family! They journey with people through life, often during some of their hardest seasons, bringing hope and biblical truth. Our volunteers bring acceptance and encouragement to people, offering a listening ear, praying for people and their needs and sometimes also offering practical support. While we serve in Kerith Care we do always try to remember that we aren’t in the business of fixing people - but we point people towards the One who is!

Kerith Care at Farnborough has three main areas where people serve;

Small group leaders

Often the ‘first line of defence’ in pastoral situations, our Small Group Leaders often open their homes and invite people to do life with them, studying God’s word, providing a space where everyone can pray for others and be prayed for - and of course there’s much laughter and often social times thrown in too! One small group leader recently told us of the answered prayers they’ve seen in their group this past few months, following on from a trickier season where there were a few different pastoral needs. Of course in serving others this way, our small group leaders are often also looked after by those in their groups - everyone looking out for one another.

Prayer team - Sundays and mid week

At Kerith Farnborough we have recently formed a Sunday prayer ministry team. Of course we want to encourage a community where we are all praying for one another, but we know many in our community have appreciated having a dedicated team who are identified and ready to pray for others at our Sunday meetings. There is also a team of prayer intercessors who are praying for the many requests that come in (via website or the prayer cards box) and receive the monthly prayer email, as well as more urgent requests.

Kerith Care ‘hands and feet’ mid-week team

Lastly, we want to expand our team of amazing volunteers who are available to text or call others to encourage them, listen to them or pray with them. People who also may be able to write cards, do hosptial visits or meet people for a walk or coffee.

Whichever role people chose to serve in the above, they are all a blessing to our community! But of course - whether we serve in the Kerith Care team or not, we can all look out for, and look after one another, in love.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10
