“I say YES”…to the HOST team!
If you call Kerith your home and you aren’t already serving - would you join us on the journey? Over the last few months we have been spotlighting different ministry teams so you can be praying which one to join. Of course even if you’re in a team already, please do take a read of these blogs, as it’s so encouraging to hear what God is doing. You’ll also hear the vision our ministry leaders have to help people find their way back to God through communities growing in their love for God and love for people (for those newer to Kerith - that’s our vision statement as a church!) Read on to learn what it means to be part of our HOST Team on Sundays.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
Romans 15:5-7
Every Sunday, before people begin to arrive, our HOST Team is already at work. From the car park to the foyer to the refreshments area, the people on this team create an atmosphere of warmth and belonging. Their goal is simple but powerful: to make church a place where everyone feels welcome and free to encounter Jesus.
Here’s a look at the different roles in our HOST Team and how each one makes a difference;
Car Park Team
The car park team is the very first point of contact for many guests. They make arriving at church stress-free and welcoming by directing cars, putting out signage, and ensuring people know exactly where to go. A calm, friendly welcome in the car park can set the tone for the whole morning.
Welcome Team
Whether it’s greeting people at the doors, staffing the Info Point, or connecting newcomers with families and friends, this team helps everyone feel seen and valued.
Refreshments Team
Few things make people feel at home like a warm drink and a friendly chat. The refreshments team provides tea and coffee before and after the meeting, making space for conversations and relationships to grow.
Each of these serving roles are key, but together they all express the heart of our HOST ministry team which is to be;
Hospitable: Offering unconditional welcome and creating the best environment for people to meet Jesus.
Outstanding: Serving with excellence and giving our best to glorify God.
Spiritual: Growing in our own faith and helping others grow in theirs.
Team: Working together with unity, inviting others to join us so guests become hosts.
If you’re interested in saying YES to joining the HOST team, in particular we are looking for people to help with car parking, although there is need for the other roles too - everyone gets to wear a blue T shirt, and if you’re really fortunate, a hi-vis jacket ;-)
Serving on this team is also a great way to get to know people if you’re newer to church yourself! So why not fill out a card on a Sunday soon to register your interest, and we will be in touch!
