Making a global impact - our building project tithe money at use in Tanzania
It was so great to welcome Stewart Lake on Sunday from Compassion UK , the child sponsorhip charity who empower the local church across the globe to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
As well as bringing a powerful bible message for us (listen back on podcast if you missed it!), he also brought some updates around a global project we have been supporting through giving some of our building project tithe money.
Around £7500 of that money has built this building in Maseyu, Tanzania, pictured here in the photos. A local Assemblies of God church of just 65 members runs a programme in Maseyu to help empower an amazing 265 local students, helping equip and empower them to learn vital skills that will help them, such as tailoring. Learning a skill like this helps them to help themselves in seeking employment and income and improves the quality of life for the students and their whole families! As well as the practical skills, they are also teaching them about how loved they are by Jesus.
This is a local church, just like ours, making a difference in their local community.
Our financial giving allows the local church to carry out it's mission, So thank you for your ongoing generosity. Some of our congregation have also sponsored children through Compassion UK, both in this local church project, and many others around the world. I know there were more people who on Sunday enquired about sponsoring children, and so we hope to see our collective impact increase as the years roll by.
Something we can all do, is be praying!
Please pray for;
🙏🏿Encouragement and empowerment of Tanzanian pastors as they serve and care for the people in their communities
🙏🏾God's good provision for families who have lost their jobs and are struggling
🙏🏻Compassion projects in Tanzania as they seek to serve their communities
We are in the process of putting together a Building Fund Tithe Committee with representatives from our congregation, led by Malcolm Pearcey. We will soon be inviting some people into this committee to help make decisions on how our tithe money is spent locally, nationally and globally. If you are interested in getting involved, we would of course love to hear from you! Chat to Malcolm on a Sunday, or email us to register your interest.
