This week’s building update… 14th August 2026
(3 minute read)
It’s been an exciting week at Kerith Farnborough as the work on the building has officially got underway!
We’re so grateful to God that the contractors have completed their first week on site without any major issues or hold-ups. It’s a real answer to prayer, and we’re thankful for everyone who has been praying for the project.
What’s happened this week?
There’s already been plenty of progress on site:
Partition walls are up! These are beginning to separate the Auditorium from the Kerith Lounge and Kids Check-in. You can see the progress in the photos below… (if you’re reading this in an email tap ‘continue reading’ at the bottom of the page to see the full blog post including photos).
The bottom of the staircase has been removed, ready for it to be repositioned later in the project.
Demolition has begun on the first-floor rooms, as we start preparing these spaces for their new layouts.
It’s amazing to see plans that we’ve talked and prayed about beginning to take shape in front of us.
We’ll be sharing more photos and updates on our social media as the work progresses, so make sure you’re following along on instagram or facebook.
What’s happening next week?
As well as the building work continuing, there are some great opportunities for us to gather together as a church family.
Focused Prayer – Thursdays, 7pm
Our weekly focused online prayer meetings continue every Thursday at 7pm on Zoom. Now that the project is underway, we have some more specific things to pray for — including the work itself, our church and our community.
Please do join us for 30 minutes of focused prayer. Tap here to sign up and receive the zoom link.
Worship Night – Fri 14th Aug, 7–8pm
This Friday is our Worship Night, with both Kerith and Newfire worship teamsleading us.
We’ll be gathering at Guillemont Junior School (GU14 9ES) from 7–8pm. Come and join us as we spend time together in God’s presence, praising and worshipping Him.
Picnic in the Park – Sun 16th Aug, 11am–1pm
On Sunday, we’re heading to King George V Playing Fields (GU14 6PQ) for a Picnic in the Park.
Bring along your lunch and something to sit on, and come ready to enjoy some time together. There’ll be a range of activities to get involved in — both physical and non-physical! — or you can simply relax, catch up with others and enjoy being together.
Unless you’re away, we’d really encourage you to join us at one or more of these gatherings. It was so encouraging to gather with some of you earlier this week, and we’re looking forward to more opportunities to connect.
Looking ahead…
There are also a couple of important dates coming up, with some action needed from you!
Pilgrimage Prayer Walk – Sun 30th Aug
Join us for our Pilgrimage Prayer Walk, meeting at Chalk in the Park Café at 10am.
It would really bless our team to know how many people we can expect, so please sign up and find out more [HERE].
Celebration Sunday – Sun 6th Sept
Our Celebration Sunday will take place at our Bracknell church building from 4–5pm, specifically for our Farnborough congregation.
It will be a great opportunity to celebrate together, so please tap here to read more and sign upto let us know you’re coming.
Thank you for being part of this!
There is so much to be thankful for as we see this project move from plans and prayers into reality. Thank you for continuing to pray, give, encourage and get involved.
I’m taking some annual leave over the next couple of weeks, but others on our Kerith team will be keeping you informed, so please do look out for their emails and updates.
We’re excited to see what God continues to do in and through our church and our community!
Much love,
Sonia
